Greenhouse

Back garden

Wood pigeons, magpies and crows have been feeding on the rough grass at the lower end of Biscuit's meadow as I've been drawing this pen and watercolour sketch towards the end of the afternoon, with blackbirds, goldfinches, siskins and others in our back garden.

We had the option to buy this Westdock greenhouse in 1983 when we moved in here. The previous owner of the house had it in the centre of the garden, which made it easily accessible from the house, but we decided we'd prefer to dig a wildlife pond there so the greenhouse got relegated to a corner down at the far end of the garden.
