Hope and Back Again

I just get to the station at Hope, in the Peak District, Derbyshire as the train is due to arrive. I've walked through parks, woods, over pastures, moors, through plantations, village and alongside the River Derwent (this the Derbyshire Derwent, we walked alongside the not disimilar Cumbrian river of the same name last week).reading
These drawings, made on the return train are all that I did all day: my plan was to walk from Sheffield Station and to get as far as I could into the Peak District so that I could join together in my mind the various swatches of the countryside I've already seen.

There is plenty of material for the book that I'm intending to write and draw. Next Page
