It's a perfect bank holiday for catching up in the garden - sunny enough to entice you outside but not too hot to work.

This hedge at Barbara's mum's has been allowed to grow but I trim our hawthorn hedge before it gets out of hand.

sandleAfter drawing my left foot yesterday I turn to my right today but then a better model comes along: my nephew, great nephew that is, Ben who I'm meeting and drawing for the first time here, aged six weeks.

We're gathered together here to celebrate the birthday of Ben's great grandma, Barbara's mum Betty. Feeling a little guilty, Barbara and I drift off just as the party is beginning to get into full swing because we can't miss this perfect bank holiday afternoon in the garden. Next Page
