By Hook or by Crook

siskinThe shepherd's crook bird feeder has become increasingly crowded so we bought these brackets to fit on the niger feeder pole. I re-filled the peanut feeder and sunflower feeder and moved the fat ball across and within minutes the birds had taken to the new arrangment.

siskinTwo, sometimes three, siskins have become regular feeders, along with as many as 30 goldfinches.

If we took a walk in the woods and saw a siskin or a nuthatch that would be a highlight of the day. Now we've only to look out of the window.

Of course there is a cost: about £5 a week for the bird food! Next Page
