GEORGIE keeps a watch over the paddock at Farmer Copley’s Farm Shop, Purston, near Pontefract, but don’t worry, he’s friendly. I leaned against the gate as he stood, front legs leaning on the top of the wall, so that I was face to face with him.

It’s a perfect spring morning, sunny with no breeze so I can relax as I draw instead of bracing myself against wind, rain and cold which is more often the case. The farm now boasts the Moo café where I fortified myself with a sausage sandwich and latte before starting to draw while Barbara and the mums browsed in the farm shop.
