Misty Afternoon

Richard Bell’s Wild West Yorkshire nature diary,  Friday,  5th February 2010

AFTER a late night getting my booklet off to the printers via the Internet and a morning putting together the cover, I’m free again at last and our walk up into Horbury to return books that I’d borrowed for research is the furthest that I’ve walked since I strolled around Haw Park with my birdwatching friends on Boxing Day six weeks ago.

Today it’s dull, misty and mossy (on walls, lawns and rough ground) but it’s still great to get out and it’s delightful to feel that I can get back to walking, gardening, a spot of DIY and, of course, drawing for fun, after the frantic pace of illustrating and laying out my book.
