THE LIGHT FADES as I paint the view of the wood from our patio windows. I can hardly see the colours that I'm mixing but I remember where they are in the box. A moth flutters around the patio. A Bat appears briefly and circles once or twice over the lawn. Over the wood a Heron flies slowly, just above the treetops; a silhouette in the dusk.
