Treacle Tins

Richard Bell’s Wild West Yorkshire nature diary Wednesday, 18th June 2008

AFTER A day working on book layouts I need a change from the computer so I take a dip pen and Indian ink and draw the tins of pens on my desk. The studio is pretty tidy at the moment so this is the most appealingly complex corner for me to draw.

In my latest book, I’ve been advocating fibre tip as a trouble-free medium for drawing natural subjects in the field but this evening I wanted the inkiness of the traditional version of pen & ink.
